Chocolate Brands, Ranked Worst To Best

It's likely that chocolate brands are high on your snack radar if you have a sweet tooth. Continue reading if you concur that chocolate has a legitimate claim to being the eighth wonder of the world. There are a lot of cocoa beans needed to sustain the more than $100 billion chocolate industry, according to Insider. A cacao tree will typically produce about 2,500 beans per year, or about six pounds of chocolate, according to the National Confectioners Association. It takes 400 cocoa beans to make just one pound of chocolate. To put this in perspective, it is estimated that 58 million pounds of chocolate are sold annually just for Valentine's Day (via Good Housekeeping).

As with any food product, some chocolate brands are dominating this market while others fall short of expectations. With the intention of ranking them from worst to best, our Tasting Table tasters quickly gathered 20 chocolate brands. As self-described chocolate enthusiasts, we discovered so many delicious ones that it was difficult to choose just a few to include in this list. But we did, so prepare yourself for some seriously deliciousness and pour yourself a glass of milk, a cup of tea, or whatever concoction takes your fancy (and goes well with chocolate, of course).

1.Esthechoc

Esthechoc holds that a healthy interior leads to a healthy exterior. This is something that we wholeheartedly concur with, so we dug into the chocolate to see if the appealing exterior matched the delectable interior. Consider Esthechoc as a food supplement made from dark chocolate that is 72.6% cacao. The healthier and better for your general health the chocolate is, the darker it is and the fewer additives it contains. This chocolate will undoubtedly make you feel good and won't give you the sugar rush hangover that comes with excessively sweetened chocolate, it has been proven.

Although the website for Esthechoc lists all the advantages of eating chocolate, such as antioxidants and support for skin metabolism, we are more concerned about how the products taste. Is chocolate used in beauty products also tasty chocolate?

2. Whittaker's

Whittaker's Chocolate, which is made by a family in New Zealand, comes next on our list. When harvested, the beans travel from West Africa to Porirua in about 80 days, where the chocolate manufacturer roasts the beans in batches by hand. Whittaker's sources its beans from Ghana. Making chocolate without palm oil is Whittaker's primary goal, and we value knowing the chocolate we are consuming has high-quality ingredients and was produced ethically. Making chocolate is not an easy task and should not be rushed. Whittaker's takes every precaution to guarantee a consistently delicious and high-quality chocolate product.

The cost of premium chocolate is higher than that of most other things, though. Whittaker's is known for being a premium candy brand that is frequently imported, which contributes to its higher price. So with that said,

3. Cadbury

More than 200 years ago, Cadbury began producing chocolate, and it continues to innovate and inspire the market today. Chocolate enthusiasts value Cadbury's "Cocoa Life," which refers to the company's use of 100% cocoa from sustainably sourced sources in its Cadbury Dairy Milk products. Cadbury has proposed to implement this practice for all of its products by 2025.

The name Cadbury may be familiar to you thanks to its well-known Easter advertisements featuring the renowned Cadbury Creme Eggs. A soft fondant center that melts in your mouth is enclosed in a milk chocolate shell in this product. Despite the popularity of this Cadbury chocolate product, particularly in the spring, Cadbury's other products did not particularly excite our taste buds. These eggs were once only offered during the Easter season, but they are now offered year-round.

Although we think the Cadbury Creme Eggs are pretty tasty, the other products in our taste test did not quite measure up. Our lower ranking of Cadbury is due to our opinion that other chocolate brands taste better and are more reasonably priced.

4. Russell Stover

Since 1923, Russell Stover has been a favorite among Americans. It is well known for its assorted chocolate boxes, which become more popular during special occasions like Valentine's Day because they make simple presents that everyone will like. Guessing which filling each chocolate in the box contains is the fun part of receiving one of these boxes. The most popular fillings are chewy caramels, nougats, crunchy nut clusters, and sweet creams like vanilla or raspberry that are enrobed in dark or milk chocolate.

Overall, we think Russell Stover is merely passable. We think the fillings are a little too sweet, and a thin coating of chocolate covers them. The flavors also have a slightly artificial taste, but once we start eating them, we find it difficult to stop. This company

5. Nestlé

"Good food, Good life" is the company's motto, and we agree with it. Nestlé is one of the biggest food distributors in the world and a well-known producer of chocolate. Everything from baby food and water bottles to coffee, cereal, and pet care products are part of Nestlé's broad brand portfolio. Even food service, nutrition, and health care are areas where the company dabbles. But for the purposes of this article, it goes without saying that we are most concerned with Nestlé's chocolate offerings.

Nestlé's chocolates are well-liked because of their reasonable prices and high quality. Henri Nestlé founded the multinational Swiss company, which today produces some of the most well-known chocolates in the world, in 1866. Nestlé's market share in the United

6. Dove

The Dove Bar, the company's iconic ice cream bar, made its debut in 1956. Dove is an American chocolate company that first launched in Chicago in 1939. The company now sells a wide selection of chocolates, candies, and ice cream (in bars and pints). You want to indulge in Dove's silky-smooth chocolate products because of the sexy, desirable vibe that their branding and packaging exudes.

Each bite of the individually wrapped Dove Promises Collection comes with a quote hidden inside the foil wrapping, and it is available in milk or dark chocolate. In comparison to, say, a fortune cookie note, this is a nice personal touch that feels more sophisticated and motivating.

We had high expectations for our chocolate taste test because Dove's marketing definitely exudes a feeling of luxury.

7. Ritter Sport

Ritter Sport will help you discover the brightest chocolates. Each chocolate is wrapped in a colorful package so you can taste the rainbow; no, these are not Skittles. The company takes great pride in using only the finest ingredients in its chocolates, such as whole biscuits, crunchy hazelnuts, sweet strawberries, Alpine milk, exquisite marzipan, or the finest Jamaican rum. We value the brand's attention to detail and the fact that each chocolate only contains three to four ingredients.

Each bar's cocoa is 100% sustainably sourced from Peru, Nicaragua, or Ghana. We adore Ritter Sport because of the variety of chocolate flavors, premium ingredients, and vegan options it offers. We discover that we keep returning for more and trying every color. As a whole, Ritter Sport produces very

8. Duc d'O

Hendrik Verhelst, a former timber merchant, founded Duc d'O in 1983. Duc d'O is the only place to go if you want the best Belgian chocolate made with the best ingredients. Present-day Duc d'O products include seashells, assorted pralines, mousse tablets, and flaked truffles in addition to an array of other exquisite chocolates. But we went straight for the chocolate truffles because that was the company's initial focus.

During our taste test, we sampled the flaked truffles and discovered that no two Duc d'O truffles are exactly alike. This is a result of the company's method for making chocolate. A distinctive and delectable treat is created when the light chocolate mousse passes through a thick layer of chocolate flakes and the truffles are simultaneously covered in Belgian chocolate shavings.

9. Scharffen Berger

As the first artisan chocolate producer in America, Scharffen Berger transformed the chocolate business in 1996. Winemaker John Scharffenberger and chocolate expert Robert Steinberg founded the business. Steinberg made the decision to devote himself to his love of fine food and focus on chocolate making after learning that he had leukemia. In 2005, Hershey bought the company, but in 2020, Scharffen Berger went back to being privately owned. For its products, Scharffen Berger continues to travel the globe in search of the best cacao. And even today, its products are still made in America.

In contrast to many of the other companies on our list, Scharffen Berger sells baking chocolate and chocolate bars. The company offers unsweetened dark chocolate cocoa powder, various baking chunks, and bars for use in baking.

10. Kinder

The Kinder brand was established in 1968 in a small Italian town and has since spread throughout the world. Kinder recently began making chocolates for sale in the United States after previously only being sold in European cities.

Children who love chocolate are the target audience for Kinder. One half of the egg contains milky sweet creams and wafer bites filled with cocoa cream, while the other half contains a surprise toy. This company sells hollow, good-quality chocolate eggs with surprises inside. Even though Kinder sells other chocolate items besides eggs, these particular products have greatly increased the brand's recognition among younger consumers.

Kinder creates the Kinder Bueno, a chocolate treat with its own element of surprise, for chocolate lovers of all ages. Under the milk chocolate covering,
